Thoughts

A difficult day, saying goodbye to my Uncle George. I know he would have been proud of all those who spoke today and humbled by the numbers of friends and family who came to pay their respects. A great man and the epitome of what an uncle should be. He created so many happy childhood memories for me and was there for us when we needed him most. We'll all miss that wit and sparkle. X

George has been a constant part of my life for over 60 years. I have such happy memories of holidays, Christmas's, family occasions in the past and many recent happy times spent with him, he was full of fun and had a wicked sense of humour and a twinkle in his eyes which he kept throughout his life. He was the life and soul of any party, just a joy to be with. In 1995 when Gordon died suddenly he was the only person I knew I could turn to and I will always be grateful for the wonderful support he so willingly gave to Philip and I at that difficult time. I will miss this very special, kind and caring man very much and remember him always with great affection. Rest in peace George. Much love Mary xx
